Got another question. Ive seen this one several times before but cant remeber exactly what to do.
Im trying to add the light map check so I can Illuminate the tale of the Dash.
I made a 128x128 all black texture and put it in the Self Illumination of the material editor. And checked it. Named lightmap_L
I made an _L texture and tried it in the Ambiante and Specular map positions of the material editor. The texture is fuelage_L same texture size 1024x1024 as fuselage_T.
Check has light map on export.
Either way I try it still get the transparency problem.
Any one have a tried and true method on this thanks. Greg

Try adding an alpha channel to the textures and select "has reflect" option in the export window.

Hi Cos, You have to create a light map ,That's created by the reflex map *_t all the mapped objet you have to create a light map xxx_l For example you have paste you alpha channel greyich map into the fuselage name AVION_t  you have to name exacly to the light map AVION_l  :

Create a Black map (0,0,0) 128x128 name it as the XXX_t map ,I'll be more explicit

...

Exported and should be no more transparancy ,anyway send me and PM if you need any help Ill be glad to help you

Alex

In the case you need to light a passenger window or the Tail ,you already of course have the light map _l and it has the same size as the _t in the case you wont need to iluminate you can create a simple black map 0,0,0, 128x128 if you have and _t (reflex or greyich) map ,Don't ask me why ,I don't know why all the _t map requires this stupid _l map but it has to be done otherwise you'll have the wonderwoman's plane effect  Grin

But always using the same name

fusetexture_l
fusetexture_t
fusetexture_LM
fusetexture_etc

and I sure you know this ,but I remind you to place this _l map in the plane's texture folders aswell

Hey Alex. Thanks for that. I think I got it fixed and figured out now. This is what I found out and did to stop the transparency and keep my reflections on as long as possible.
I didnt put the small all black texture in self illumination or check the box.
What worked after alot of experimenting is just exporting with the Has Light map checked and then creating my _L textures and putting them in texture folder with an all white alpha.
I use Paint Shop Pro 9 and I think I got around the transparency problem when turning on the lights by not making the background totaly black. Using the light effect in PSP9. (see pic)Some of my Exterior parts are on a seperate map wich I had to keep at a lower light source 60 in order to make the model look the same color or darkness when the _L maps come on .(see pic)
This gives me reflections right up until 20:56:00 PM. After that the reflects drop off and the _L takes over. Kinda sucks not to have reflects for a half an hour.

Which leads me to my question is there a way to keep the reflects on the aircraft till the Sim changes to night? Thanks Greg.
