Rotty and I met up near Ashland, Ohio (Ashland County Airport 3G4) on his way home from Airventure... After I landed, I found him asleep in the pilot lounge, with a dog asleep at his feet, that I thought for a second, might be Peg.
Then we flew over to Coshocton, Ohio (I40) for a lunch ( they do a neat,picnic-style menu).
It was marginal VFR on the way up to Ashland, but got better, though we never had visibility much over 4nm in haze, scattered clouds.
Rotty did most of the flying, so I could blame him for not holding course... but he didn't hesitate to point out than I don't land on center-line
(especially when a wind shift decided to void the ground-effect and shove us east of the runway)
I dropped him off back in Ashland around 1730Z, and he had a ten hour drive left to get home; so we're not likely to here from him tonight..

:-o I'm sad....you guys were here in my backyard and no one even mentioned it!
I just mapquested the coshocton airport and found it to be 45 miles from door to door, taking less time then it does to get to my girlfriends house!
Let me know when you're gonna be in the area again and I'll buy lunch or something?

I hope you guys had a nice lunch, I hope his car makes it back to NJ. He had alot of trouble on the way to Oshkosh, I'm sure he told you. I also didn't know he had Peg with him, I would have made him take me to see her. Mark

I thought about you, 'cause I know you live near there.. but the whole day was improvised. Original plan was to meet in Freemont, then Ashland.. and even then I was 1.5 hours late getting out of Columbus waitng on 300 foot ceilings.. Next time we'll plan it better..

He didn't.. I just thought it was Peg at first glance.. ( 'course Rotty coulda passed for Peg too
.. all crashed out on the couch with his hat on his face

Glad to see you and Sean could meet up!!
I feel bad for him because that's a long drive to do by yourself. He's going to be beat and I hope he doesn't have to work Monday!!
I hope next year he goes because I'll be going along with him!! We'll take my car though!!
Great shots!!

That sure was fun- just joyriding around. Thanks again, Brett...
So sorry we forgot about you, Jared... definitely next time.
I didn't have Peg with me (pets are confined to a small area of the campground, so without someone with me to just watch her, that's out of the question), but it was a rough trip indeed (long story).
By the time Brett and I met up, I had just driven about 8 hours from KOSH... fortunately, the folks at the office at Ashland were more than happy to let me charge my phone and camera batteries and snooze on their sofa while waiting for Brett... three very friendly dogs there, too.
Anyway, here are my pics from that flight- shot some video too, but that's way near the bottom of my "clips to edit, render and post somewhere" list, which is seriously backlogged.
A coupla flying fools.
BH on his way to get the club plane home by 2PM.
The second leg of my trip was pretty brutal (construction on I-80 in Pa. and lots of night fog), but having that bit of sleep and fun flying break made a huge difference.
No problems with the car on the way home, but there are still cooling issues I have to sort out (later!).
Got home around 1AM and will be posting lots of Oshkosh pics soon, just as soon as I figure out where to start!

Good to hear you guys got to meet up, and that you got back Sean, that sounds like it was a heck of a drive.
