A few suggestions for you consideration:
1) I seem to remember that you are using Gimp, an editor with which I am unfamiliar. If there is a way to smooth out the sky that might be beneficial. In an 800 pixel wide image it is reasonable to expect less grain than that. Even Irfanview now has filters which can improve things in that regard, although you wouldn't want to smooth things out so much that the clouds lose their character.
2) Compositon: You really do need to stop clipping off parts of the plane. Clipping is fine IF it enhances the image. This clipping does not enhance the image. As a viewer, it makes me feel uncomfortable. You could reposition the plane so that all of it shows OR clip it in an artistic, enhancing manner. If the plane looks too "cramped" with all of it in the image then simply make the plane a bit smaller.
3) Blending: Look at the image but don't just look at it, pay attention, actually "see" it. Do you see how the plane doesn't blend well with the background? Do you see how the background and the main plane look like two entirely separate entities? That's where "blending" comes in. Blending means that the plane looks like it fits naturally into the background. Does it look that way to you? If not, then you have work to do, hee, hee!
