I would really love to have scenery add-ons for North Dakota in general and Minot International airport (KMOT) in specific.  My family lives in Minot, and I have flown in and out of that airport (KMOT) on numerous occasions.  Though a small, regional airport, KMOT is an international airport as it does receive flights from both the U.S. and Canada.  If you are a NWA enthusiast (as I am), you will also like KMOT as it is solely serviced by NWA for its U.S. domestic flights.  Furthermore, North Dakota makes for some beautiful, open flying with a few interesting challenges.

Because of the air base located next to Minot, and because of Air Force activity in North Dakota, there are several restricted air spaces located in the region.  This can make navigation a fun little challenge as one either navigates through, into, or out of North Dakota.  Also, between seasonal changes and pockets of stunning geogrpahic diversity nestled amongst the Great Plains, North Dakota offers pilots of prop planes some wonderful scenery to explore at low level flight unimpeded by difficult elevation changes (not that those can't be fun, too, at times).  Finally, because of the large open expanses of the Great Plains, North Dakota regularly is subject to stroing winds.  So, for those of you who like to practice take-offs and landings in heavy wind shear situations, this also is a great opportunity.

It is for all these reasons and more that I hope to find someone willing to develpo a scenery package for North Dakota and Minot International.

EDIT:

I forgot to mention, I am looking for this scenery first for FS2004 and then for FSX.  I have both, but still primarily use FS2004 until I can upgrade my system to improve FSX performance.

I live in Minot, ND, and an addon scenery for KMOT would be great. KMOT looks nothing like it does in real life.

Holy smokes!  You live in Minot?  My family is there, and I will be joining them once I am done here in Japan (only one more year!).

And, yeah, KMOT is kind of off-kilter to what it is IRL.  At least the runway points the correct direction!  Grin

I will also like to see better definition for the major roads, better buildings for Marketplace Foods, Menards, Crossroads Mall, and the whole old downtown area.  It would be nice if the zoo and the Scandinavian Heritage park were identifiable areas, as well.

If but I knew how to do such things, I would enthusiastically take on the challenge.  But I don't know the first thing about making add-ons for FS.  Maybe I should learn . . .  Embarrassed

Anyway, glad to see someone else from the 'Magic City' here on the forums.  I guess it is a small world after all!  Wink Smiley

Ya, I wish it was in a valley shape too, not just flat. I would also like to see some major objects, like the highschools, the dome, And maybe Dakota Square Mall. Also, the Mouse river and Oak Park would be great to see while flying.

Crossroads Mall? Do you mean like Arrowhead mall or Town and Country?

I meant Dakota Square.  I think I've watch the new Dawn of the Dead one too many times and have Crossroads Mall stuck in my brain!  Grin Roll Eyes  Ugh.  And I was just back home a couple of weeks ago, too!  Embarrassed Grin

Mouse River and the park would be great, too, like you said.  I had lunch at the park with my family just a day or so before I left to come back to Japan.

Well, if I find a developer or happen to learn how to do it myself, I'll let you know.  Which makes me think, I wonder if there is any payware out there that accurately details North Dakota including Minot.
