Hey guys

Im looking for a really great A380 freeware or payware doesnt matter..

But it needs to be very highly detailed and loaded with feats. suchs as WX, and the different Cam options the 380 provides from the cockpit on the MFDs, and airport navigation on the MFD's as well...

anyone have some ideas ??

best

The only one that I know of  is the Abacus A380 that was rushed on to the market at the time of the arrival of both the aircraft and FSX.  It can only be described as an A380 lite, very lite.  It has not operational MCDU which is the heart of the aeroplane,  and its control logic is airbus marginal at the best.  It uses the default GPS, not what you might expect to find in the largest and most expnsive commercial aircraft flying today.

Unless someone is more up-to-date than me, I would recommend you get and practice on the Wilco series 1 and 2 first, and when a fully professional model arrives on the market at some time in the future you will be ready.

Guys, beware here - this could be a pirate situation similar to what happened with the FS France planes (See FS9 forum). Here's a quote on this from the Avsim forums from February 2006:

'Mr. Kreznor I have another problem as my files have been stolen again. I've just noticed that Brian C. Selb author of Airbus A380-800 v2.0 for FSX filename a380_800_fsx.zip

Mr. Selb stole my RB211-535 V3 757 Soundset...

In addition he has uploaded many aircraft "full packs" for FSX lately however the soundset author's that he has been using for his packages have received credit for their soundsets. However mine was stolen and my name was not even refrenced in any of his documentation, nor did he contact me for such a thing.

At this point I'm really getting frustrated, for the lack of appreciation people have for my work and respect they have for me. Nowadays I hardly ever get thanks e-mails from FS users that download my files and believe me I often get thousands of downloads on my files and never a thanks or anything. And the fact that my files are being stolen left and right is not making me feel any better.

I'm really starting to reach the point when I'll say to myself, is it really worth it to spend so much time to make soundsets and just to have stuff like this happen all the time, I don't really see how it makes sense.

I hope other freeware FS developers out there understand the way I feel right now...

Sincerely,
Emil Serafino Jr.'

Emil Serafino Jr is also quoted as the author of the soundset used by 'Eric Buchmann' for the recent 797 in the FSX downloads section, and I doubt that his permission was asked for that either.

Might be wise to steer clear of all of this, and go with Robert Versluys' A380 which is the best freeware version at the moment.

Wink

The most accurate-looking A380 I've ever come across is the AFS-Design A380. I don't have it, but I do have the typhoon from the same company, and the modelling and detail in it is spectacular. There are also some screenshots on AFS-Design's website that show off a magnificent VC, lots of lurrvely looking liverys, and a very accurate-looking exterior model...captures the look of the A380 like nothing I've seen yet, to the extent that I am seriously considering buying it. Although it's payware, I'm pretty sure it'll be worth it.

AFS-Design's english homepage is here and their screenshot centre is here. The site itself is quite self-explanatory.

Best out there at the moment is the overland model IMO.

There's another German modeling a great A380 for FSX, He posted preview pics in a German-language forum:

You'll be able to buy his model at, when released:
