Hi,

I just bought mega airport frankfurt, and my traffic.

When I taxi around the airport, these are planes in the middle of buildings and car parks! Even if i turn off my traffic and use static aircraft, they are still in the middle of buildings! Also, most of the gates available in flight planner seem to be in car parks or buildings, and when starting on the runway, it places me on the grass next to it. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks.

P.s just noticed that I have terrible blurries and frankfurt Sad

Maybe I now:

Make sure you have the correct version of FS and your software, means: e.g. if you have FS2004 you also need an FS2004 version of fraport. But you should already know that...

Many additional airport sceneries have "flatten & exclusion"-areas. You need them to hide certain objects, buildings etc. of your stock scenery.
You don't want to have both the stock AND the add-on buildings!!
I think that's what happened. You have some add-on parking-gates at the same place where some stock-buildings were. Perhaps the stock scenery is not positioned exactly at the right place of your world e.g. 50 meters too much south.....

If that is really the case (you have to try out) look at your scenery library. Is there any area called something of frankfurt and flatten it? or maybe EDDF, the frankfurt's airport code?
If not, you can click on create a new layer and look in the directory where you have all Fraport-files installed to (this should be an subfolder of your FS dir or even one subfolder more). You sad "Mega Airport Frankfurt" ?! I think it's an aerosoft add-on, isn't it? If it is, you will maybe find it in <fsdir>\Aerosoft\ and here a folder called like described above. You should have 1 layer for EACH of your frankfurt-folders there!
That didn't work or that layer exists and is active? Tell me which layers you have in your scenery libr. list and/or try to re-install it!

Good Luck!

celtman,

It sounds like you have the wrong AFCAD file still working in that scenery.  I don't know the package, but see if there are some specific instructions about how to handle an AFCAD update.

Also check in your folders and see if there are TWO AFCAD files with the same letters for that airport.  If so.... ONE of them has to go.  Likely it will be the one with the earlier install date.

best,

I've figured out that the problem is AFCAD files, and I appear to have 2 listed in AFCAD 2.21

These are:

Frankfurt/Main Mod: Layer50
Frankfurt/Main Stock: Layer7

Stock is greyed out, any ideas what to do?

Thanks,
Celtman

Use the Layer50 one...If the stock has been grayed out, it means it is not in use...If still in doubt...Go to Avsim and get the following file... "cj_eddf_aerosoft.zip" (minus quotes)...That should sort things out...

Cheers,
Ashar Wink

Thanks for the download name Ashar.

None of the suggestions seem to have worked though Sad

Still go aircraft in buildings, altough after the new AFCAD, it is slightly better.

That is an Aerosoft product, isn't it?  Have you tried their website's FAQ and support pages?  How about the readme.doc and the manual?

There is definately an AFCAD problem.  An AFCAD file is what tells the AI aircraft where to taxi and where to park.  So either the AIRPORT got installed at the wrong Long/Lat....or the AFACD did.

The question is WHY.

USUALLY such symptoms point to the AFCAD for the DEFAULT scenery airport is still there... and the ADD_ON scenery airport is more correctly positioned, and the two don't line up right.

Have you tried a complete uninstall / reinstall of the airport?

Was the file a download purchase, or boxed?  If download, have you redownloaded the file?  Maybe the original was corupt?

Hum... a though......

Do those aircraft MOVE?

If not, is it possible that you had an add-on previously installed that added STATIC aircraft to the airport there?  If so, it is possible that the ststic aircraft bgl flike is still installed in your scenery directory.

Just looking for ANY possible answers.   Wink

Just sat for ages waiting for one to move Wink

A few seem to move, but others do not. I think I'm going to do a re-install of FS9, start fresh and hopefully it will work Wink

Go ahead and buy it, this is a rare problem, and 99.999% of peoples installations go without a hitch.

I would severely doubt that you would have the same problem as this  Wink
