Whist changing the Air Bus engine, I took a few other pictures. Best part of the whole trip though, was watching an Antonov 124 take of right past the hanger. Unfortunately I was getting a shift handover and could not really run of to take a picture or two Cry At the same point that a 747 would be at a 1000 feet altitiude, the 124 was still at about 200 Shocked Quite something to see.

Any idea why the bottom half of the 757 is still in ATA colors??  Huh You can even still see the bottom half of the big "ATA" logo that used to be there.

Because repainting the tail means re-balancing and they need it for holiday traffic (egypt, turkey) right now. With Il-86 banned for noise it will probably be leased to other airlines like Sibir before it goes to winter storage (and a paintjob)

Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found here
