Do you mean a paint package to actually paint? In which case you have one free with Windows (but there are plenty of much better ones to choose from) and you'll just need to download DXTBMP if I remember correctly Wink

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

You could try GIMP, that's not too bad, and yes, you need DXTbmp, which is also free!

I can't answer your question, but I love the screenshot Cool

Eventually, I would like to learn how to do a paint job on an aircraft.

Good luck Cheesy

"How do I save the paint so it workes for the aircraft after I paint it? "

save it as a .bmp and use DXTbmp to convert it to a extended bmp format that FS recognizes.
This is the short version, if you want more elaborate explanations, just ask.

"Eventually, I would like to learn how to do a paint job on an aircraft. "
Pick an aircraft you want to repaint, pick the scheme you want to repaint, and try it. That's what I did...

I think I’m doing something rouge. I put the files in extended format. Nothing happened. Then I put them in DDS format (because that’s what all the fsx textures are) Am I missing somthing?
