Continental is quite possibly the best of the Legacy (AA,US,DL,CO,NW,UA) carriers.  Complimentary meals at mealtime on all flights (I don't know about regionals).  Good fares, friendly crew, clean aircraft, and environmentally conscious.  My favorite airline.  I really like their terminal at EWR.

Cool, thanks. How does Continental compare to United?? I am asking these questions because my youth group is taking a trip to Florida (I'm from California), and he said we are flying United and Continental, and I was surprised we aren't taking like Southwest or something...

Take Continental.

United has become nothing more than a no frills carrier

I have had nothing but good experiences with Continental. 90% of the time I fly, it's out of Newark with Continental. The service is good, the food is good and if your legs are a bit shorter than mine, the seating is good too. I'm six foot by the way. Domestic service is good, but I hear the trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific routes are pretty cushy too.
