These are Nick N's tips and other stuff. They will help a lot in the performance.

Lock FPS around 20-25. There is almost no such thing as 100+ FPS in FS.

If you want eye candy with ok performance (15+ FPS) max everything out in the Display setting. Don't check shadows on ground objects. Put in the weather tab at sight distance to be the lowest. The cloud draw at 40mi or the least. 3D cloud percent at 100. Detailed clouds at medium or high.

In your hardware don't check Anti Aliasing. It has been known to reduce performance. Set filtering to trilinear. Global texture size to high or maximum. Mip mapping to 4.

Set you AA to 4x and Anisotropic filtering to 4x. Close all unused programs.

These are the basic settings I use on my FS9. I get about 15 to around 24 FPS. Experiment with the settings on your graphics card and the sim itself.

I am still improveing my own sim just to tell you. Wink

Quite frankly lagging is due to the amount of RAM you got, more RAM less lagg and the faster you'r computer will run, less RAM the slower you get the idea.

Well a lot if you are at an airport with around 80 planes in front of you. Roll Eyes Slightly less if you are in the sky. I am talking about 100% traffic here. Wink Roll Eyes

If you have lots of AI traffic and get stutters... try lowering TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT= in your fs9.cfg. Ultimate traffic also does increase the load on your computer significantly. I would run it a max of 70% on your computer.

Well that would definitely not have been my first choice on traffic, it probably would have been my 6th or 7th considering that there is freeware out there that delivers more traffic flying realistic routes with only the most detailed and frame friendly models. Its free, and its called ProjectAI.

PAI are known for having models that are not very good. If you want a nice freeware package get WoAI Wink
