Just overhyped and having a good car, that's all.

How can you say he's overhyped? He's been prepaired exactly how a driver should be, and he was put in the car exactly at the right moment because Ron Dennis felt he was ready. If it had been a case of buying into a driver being overhyped he would have put Lewis in the car last year after the GP2 series had ended. Overhyped would suggest the kids not finishing races despite the big build up. Hell even the team stold him at the start of the year, they wern't expecting major things from him, just to keep it on the road and learn the sport, worry about things like wins as he got better.

Maybe he's just too scared about c**king up to make a mistake! Grin

There's no doubting he's a natural - for those unfamiliar with his story that's is how he was discovered in the first place - fighting for the lead in his first ever cart race! He's already shown though he can really get to his opponents - both Massa and his team mate in particular. I really hope McLaren don't let Alonso and his management get too pushy. From what we've already seen this year, I suspect the championship winner will drive a silver arrow. It's a case of Ron Dennis letting his drivers fight fair and square - to let the best man of 2007 win - whether he's a double world champion or not.

would be rather ironic on Alonso's part if he were to start complaining considering his stance on schumacher and his weak team mates.
The good news is, at least Ron's experience with two strong drivers will mean a fair fight, as long as they dont drive each other off the road.

Decent race...And the local Fox affiliate actually stuck around long enough to show the podium awards presentation/celebration and post-race interviews.  Shocked
Is it just me, or were Hamilton & Alonso showing shades of Prost & Senna circa 1988?

aye, and as long as they dont copy them by taking each other off the track, i'm sure it could be even more exciting.
Anyone else think the podium ceremony was a mess? the Union Jack was upside down, the anthem only half played, and Mclaren struggled to find an employee who didn't want to yell at alonso for his mid race swerve at the pit wall, to accept the constructors trophy.

It seems the anthems have been getting increasingly shorter over the past couple of years. Bad show and downright rude if you ask me.

Hmmmmmm,....Increasingly shorter? Gonna have to work on that one. Grin

Forgot to mention yesterday, in case someone may not know: For the first time in the history of F-1 a teenager scored a championship point. Of course this wouldn't have happened under the old format, but anyway congratulations Sebastian Vettel ! Smiley
