Sorry to have a dig, but recently I have been noticing that some threads are being locked for no reason.
Such as in
this case
The guy was using FRAPS to copy and paste the screenshot, FRAPS doesn't provide a view module, it does exactly the same thing as FSScreen and other freeware programmes, he could have done exactly the same thing using print-screen, maybe as a matter of convenience he didn't. All I'm trying to say is that the thread was locked for a reason that I don't seem valid, please don't take this as me trying to point out faults it was just something I noticed, and it's not simply one moderator.
What about the mysterious dissappearance of Ashar's thread? He didn't say anything controversial...
All the best,
Alex

Well perhaps you'd like to read Enos comments in that thread at the bottom. Makes things perfectly clear.
As with regards to Ashar he was banned a while back for troll like behaviour and causing a lot of trouble. His post was moved whilst the mods debated the issue of letting him back.
Everything here is done for a reason even if it isn't always obvious to you

YOU CAN ONLY USE A FREEWARE SCREENSHOT CAPTURE PROGRAM! Active Camera, Walk & Follow are NOT allowed!!
FRAPS does not act like any of these programmes, it simple performs the job of its freeware counterparts, it performs another function, but that is not what it was used for in this shot. It doesn't act like ActiveCamera, Walk and Follow or even the freeware Recorder Module, it has no effect on view capture atall.
If the Yellow FPS counter had not been in the corner no-one would know any different, all FRAPS does it put screenshots in a folder when you press a capture button, the same as FSScreen or GrabClick, or even as is now default in FSX. I just think that it was excluded for an unfair reason.

There was nothing mysterious about it!
Ashar was banned a while back and all of a sudden shows up acting like somebody else.
He was basically banned almost for this exact immature behavior!
It was moved to the admin board for discussion where it was decided we give him another chance!
It was returned to the forums a day later right here!
You should know that as you are actively posting in the thread.

He wasn't banned but I recall another member doing something very similar a few years ago. His name was Grumpy1 until he started posting as Hagar. In hindsight he was acting like a typical troll. It might have been immature but I don't remember anyone making a big fuss over it. In fact those that did suss me out were gracious enough to keep quiet about it. Not one of them betrayed me. Things have certainly changed around here.
I for one am delighted that Ashar has been given another chance.

Had the FRAPS counter not been there then I agree there wouldn't have been a problem HOWEVER it was there .... and therefore breaks that specific rule.... more so because the immediate comment after it referenced the FRAPS counter and It would only be a matter of time before someone ....... such as yourself cried PAYWARE!! ......and guess what? someone did!!
It brings back the argument that crops up at least once a month on these forums about Demos of Payware products. I regard them as free advertising and unless something shows on the screen saying it's a demo ...... then it may as well be the full product. I know there are free screenshot products that do the same, if not more than, their payware counterparts but unless there's something obvious (such as the fraps counter which can be hidden) we won't know which is being used.

Doug what Ashar was doing was attention seeking with all the I'm going, I'm back etc stuff and making multiple identities to talk to himself. In the end it just all got a bit much. You metamorphosis was gentle and not attention seeking

True, in hindsight I do understand where you are coming from
I suppose it can be mis-representation.
About the Ash thread, I only noticed it was back moments after starting this new one!
Sorry for any inconvenience caused
And Hagar, that was before my time (on SimV anyway)
All the best,
Alex
