Colleville sur Mere - U.S. Cemetery
Omaha Beach
Dedicated to "The Greatest Generation" who fought for freedom in World War II.

Albert Einstein - "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."
Martin Luther King Jr. - “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - “There is nothing worse than aggressive stupidity.”
Mark Twain - “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.”

I Like Flight Simulation!
I won't add to or subtract from your statement.
This anniversary, one of the most significant in European and American history, sadly becomes less significant every year for political reasons that I am not allowed to discuss here.
But real historians will never forget the battles that were fought on that and subsequent days in June of 1944.

On the way back from Biggin Hill, we visited a couple of places in France. We went to the
BlockHaus
at Eperlecques and then to
La Coupole
Both constructions being 5 meter thick concrete. Tall boys and Grandslam bounced off them. Well worth a visit if you happen to be close by (only 15 miles from Calais)
On the way back we went via Flanders Fields and a few of the war cemeteries............Makes you think.
