i learnt bass guitar to a pretty good standard all from tabs and help from some friends Smiley

its free and easy.. but you have to put the practice in

TAB can be useful, but it must be kept in perspective.  You can learn songs with TAB, but unless you're careful, learning guitar by TAB is like learning to paint by do the paint-by-numbers.

My various stringed instruments which I play include; Electric Fender Stratocaster guitar, Electric Armon guitar, 6-string Classical guitar, 12-string Classical guitar, Violin, Fretted Viol, 5-string Banjo, Mandolin, Mandolin-Banjo, Renaissance 13-course Lute, Appalachian Dulcimer, Auto-harp.....

All my other instruments I will leave for another time...Wink...!

I've been playing guitar for a long time and just when I thought I've seen it all I came across Andy Mckee Shocked
Check him out here and definately watch his excellent rendition of Africa from Toto.

Bottomline: even when you think you've learned every chord and scale there is, there's always something new around the corner ... I've been trying this for a couple of months now and I really suck at it Grin
