First look at this. ... Now I have my resoultions set to the highest they can be in the sim but for some reason they don't look as good in the shot as they do in the sim. What should I do here?

Get the Recorder and some great scenery. In this shot the lighting is ok but it could be better. Try angles and other addons, weather, and time settings to improve. Wink

No a1, the problem here is the compression. Get Irfan View (google it!) murjax. Wink

You go in Irfanview and hit "Save As" to wherever and on the side there should be a window with sliders. On the sliders drag it to around 90-95 for most screenshots until you get as close as you can to 100Kb. That should help. post a pic of what you did. Wink

Ok here's a pic of what I did to it ... and here's the result. ... When I clicked "Save As" the bar was already at 80 and as you see I just hit it up to 95. I personally don't see any difference. Do you?

When you take the shot, make sure it's saved as a bitmap (*.BMP). After that open the shot in Irfanview and resize is to 800 pixels wide max. Then save it as a *.jpg. Move the slider so the filesize is just under 100 KB. I'm not sure, but I think you can see the filesize in the statusbox on the bottom of the screen.

Is that possible on MS PAint?

I take it you mean it's blurry. Yes. FS9 pics have a certain haze over them, try using the sharpening option Wink

I did what you said but the file size is over 100 no matter what I do. I also sharpened it. Now what do I do?  Undecided

Make sure you're checking the size of the compressed file after you save it. The best way is to right-click on it & select Properties.

I just had a look at Irfanview and it's hard to get your pics under 100 KB without seeing what you're doing. I always use photoshop. There I can just set the filesize to 100 KB and photoshop will save the image as the cosest value under 100 KB, mostly 98 KB or so... Irfanview doesn't gve you that option.  Undecided

So.... You'll have to experiment! Cheesy Don't set the slider all the way to 100, but try 85 for instance. If the pic is still over 100 KB after that, try again using an even lower value. But whatever you do, DON'T create a .jpg pic out of a .jpg! If you saved the pic and it's over 100 KB, just throw it away and start out again with the .BMP version!  Wink

hope this helps...
