That's the kind of stuff Id Software puts out.  All the Doom series has disturbing stuff like that.  I remember the original Doom had walls made out of skin.  I don't play Doom or Quake.  That stuff is not for me.

I do the WWII FPS's.

Doom 3 was way too boring to play it more than 30 minutes.

The screenie is nice, but way too bright for a Doom game. Grin

- Edit: The WW2 shooters are as boring as Doom.

Them graphics look in my opinion really bad. They are the same as Doom 3's only it's bright. :S\

As for me I am waiting for Episode two, based on the best engine of all time. Source.

ID deserves a lot of credit for starting the Genre, but IMO the games haven't improved since Wolfenstein 3D.

You have to consider the amount of detail in this one character of the game, who knows what it does, how it moves, facial movements etc. Most enemies in Half life, f.e.a.r etc are hid behind masks. Oh and their really going to show the screen shot in the dark aren't they:Smiley

I suppose if you're just a run and gunner.  But being a history buff, I never get tired of them.  I'm currently modifying many of the campaign missions in CFS2 to make them more historically accurate, with the proper ships, etc.  I'm getting more out of that than actually playing the missions.

Since I play Forgotten Hope (get hit and die), I'm not.

I designate single player WW2 shooters boring, because its always allies, allies, allies...
The day has yet to come in which a WW2 shooter will have a single player campaign on the axis side - I doubt that this would be any less interesting than the other side.

I'm not sure if that's the reason to consider it boring, but just disappointing.  As a German, I can understand you want to see your nationality represented in single player mode.  I think such scenarios would be quite interesting.  Russia 1940, Stalingrad, Kursk, Ardennes forest, Crete, Anzio....these would be interesting from the German perspective.

actualy, a few years ago a team started work on a rather promising mod for Call of Duty and you played as the axis, the level they released was realy realy good. but it got canceled when CoD2 appeared which is a shame Sad

if a game was made where the axis whooped the allies, then the yanks wouldnt buy it, and as most game companies are US based its just shooting yourself in the foot....

I'm not sure I agree.  Silent Hunter II and Silent Hunter III were successful releases.  I think if a game is done well, anyone will buy it.

And another thing I'd change is the "squad against a whole army" gameplay.
I have nothing against playing as an allied soldier, but the fun dies immediately as soon as I get to murder the whole (dumbed down) Wehrmacht - per level.

Maybe I'll get BiA3, the videos seemed quite promising.

for Bjorn, looks promising if you have cod2 http://gfm.esgnserver2.de/?w=esgn&t=1
This mod is also going to incorporate single player from a German soldiers perspective

BTW: same people who made the one for the original cod

Well I´m sorry but this is fake !!!
It´s a pic from Doom 3 !! 100% sure.
Next to that fact, there are other reasons why it can´t be a leaked Doom 4 Screenshot.

1. The former makers of Doom 3 (Splashdamage) are still working on ET Quake Wars.
2. ID Software recently revealed they are working on something completely new (not Quake not Doom)
read about it here http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=25446
3. Anything that is known about a possible Doom 4 yet is that it might be outsourced to another company.
(And this news is quite new, too)

cheers,

BiA was good, not many liked it, i did tho, more tactical and proper squad useage, and you were not presented with the entire army at once. im looking forward to BiA3 Smiley
