Perhaps someday this world of ours will no longer have any use for soldiers, but I hope there will always be heroes.
Were it not for the bold and the brave among us, humans would have vanished long ago.

Just taking a moment to say "thank you", to all fallen warriors of all nations... rest in peace; you've earned it.

This day means something to me!

I was stationed in Kuwait during the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Basically I was support, did a couple weeks in Iraq, boy that was fun.

The guys on the ground in Iraq have there hands full. Us support guys were always very generous to those in the 4th id when they would come to Camp Arifjan for some R&R or to out process. We would go out of our way to give them a place at the front of the line during chow, buy them coffee or some fast food,  basically share whatever luxuries we had in the rear.

Although my experience wasnt always fun I couldnt imagine being caught up, for an extended period of time, in the mess in Iraq. Those who have fallen so far away from home, without every saying bye to the ones they love, that is too horrible to fully comprehend but should be remembered so less wars will start.

I do not agree with this "war" one bit but I have the up most respect for those who lay their life on the line and also the families of those who have fallen.

Politicians and desk potatoes in the upper military ranks are responsible for wars - but hardly ever been up front or in the army at all.

Best solution would be to drag those to the front, but show them more than just the "we are winning and everything is going great" stuff - like the sad eyes of POWs, destroyed cities or your wounded, screming and crying soldiers.
I'm sure that the view of burnt, halfway living corpses, torn away legs and scarred faces will make them reconsider their decision.
