FSUIPC (Read 419 times)

I am considering buying this, but I am having reservations, I have read what it supposedly does on Simmarket, but can't see how this would have a massive effect on anything I do in the sim..

It sells like hotcakes but I can't figure out one reason that makes it so appealing (other than the integration for other programmes and such, that the free version also does to some degree, but that goes without saying)

Anyone care to shed light on this?

Thanks,
Alex

<EDIT> I got the name wrong, I always thought it was FSUPIC?  Grin

Believe me it makes a huge difference ....... the weather settings allow you to get rid of the wind sheer type behaviour that different wind layers cause when using real world weather. It makes the pressure differences smoother and more realistic when ascending and descending. It overrides the default number of cloud layers so that when using real world weather or addons like active sky the clouds look spectacular as the multiple layers can be rendered properly.

There's loads of other functions which make subtle but noticeable differences to your sim....... It's well worth the money.

I went ahead and bought it, thanks to your recommendation eno!

I have to admit small, subtle things are starting to make themselves known and I just fired up ActiveSky real world weather and WOAH  Shocked

Thanks,

Alex

bonair22,

There are different versions of FSUIPC... and you REALLY have to keep current with it.  When it is not current... you get error messages.  Go to Pete Dowson's FSUIPC website and download the FREE latest version.  The FREE version will allow stuff like gauges that are registered with FSUIPC themselves to work porperly.  The developers of many gauges and programs that utilize FSUIPC work with Pete Dowson (the FSUIPC developer) and get a "license" that lets the free version work with their products.

To gain the OTHER features of FSUIPC... which are multitudinous.... you have to purchase it.

best,

........john
