That looks really cool. Do they have a flight school station? I could learn how to land in route! Im gonna implement this on for sure!

Gonna go a bit of topic do you think this radio module from go flight would be nice for a starter?

http://www.goflightinc.com/order/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=75

I want to build a stack eventually, but I thought using this along with the jet stack in FSXPAND could gt me by until more funds came along?

masternerd,

I don't know the total content for SkyBlue Radio... just started listening, and only for a short while last night.  They have a "request line" on the website.  I just know that the CONCEPT of that ability to tune the physical radio in the pit is REALLY sweet.  I like a wide variety of music from classical to rap and hip hop, ... so I can deal with the DJ-ing.

As to the pit radios......

Just "bite the bullet" and get the GF VRP-166.  It looks just about like the real thng, and it is NOT that much more expensive than the GF-46 unit.   (Check out PCAviator THIS weekend.... they are having a 10% off sale on everything and they carry Goflight products.)

I have 4 VRP-166's as my radio stack mounted on the center console.  One is switched betweeen Comm 1 + 2, one for Nav 1, one for Nav 2, and one for ADF.  For radio stacks, you can't beat the "plug and play" aspect of the Goflight units... and the price is MUCH better than the other few "plug and play" options out there.

best,

Flew tonight online on the IFSBI server using Teamspeak and the Wee Music Beastie both fed into my headphones on a flight from KSEA to CYYJ and then back to KSEA.  All told about 3 hours blocks to blocks.  If I needed to in order to hear the chatter between pilots clearer, it is easy to turn on and off the music...... just by hitting the "swap" frequency button on the Goflight VRP-166 tuned to Comm 2.  But the inherent balance betwee Teamspeak and the music is pretty well done by default.

The mixture of music was a nice blend of types.  Good "background", not too obtrusive on the flying.

Then combine all that with the Real ATIS program audio for online flying use .... where you can still get ATIS messages from the airports while ONLINE .... and the "audio environment" of the pit is getting pretty nice and sophisticated.

And tonight the whole setup ran perfectly from engine startup, AES servicing the aircraft and the pushback at KSEA, all aircraft systems in the pit working perfectly, a good landing at CYYJ in a 25 knot mostly headwind, taxi to terminal at CYYJ, and then back to KSEA landing fairly well in a 25 knot crosswind, and then the AES marshaller getting me nicely lined up at the Seattle gate, and then the gate staff getting the jetway attached .... followed by engine and systems shutdown .  All in all...... one of the best flights in the pit yet.

John is a "happy camper"!   Grin

best,

masternerd,

I was WRONG in the comment above... the GF-46 and the VRP-166 are exactly the SAME price.  Get the real fake ( Wink ) radio!
