Thank you very much, Gents! Much appreciated!  Smiley

I've been working with IL2/PF for a long time (non-edited, edited, composites) but I'm new to MSFS. Just got FSX Standard Edition because a CompUSA store near me was closing and I got it at half price!  Shocked

So, I'm downloading aircraft, etc., and getting to know the sim. That's why, for the moment, I'm sticking to edits rather than composites. Want to see what the sim has to offer.

If you have any suggestions for downloads/mods/skins, please give me a heads up. Thanks!

Just started gathering some background images for composites. It's nice to have both a bigger and a higher quality plane set to work with. Those "corners" in IL2 were getting to be a pain in the butt! Nice not having to work everything over with Brezier curves!  Cool

Cheers,
K. H.

Hi, NDSP!  Smiley

To be honest with you, M8, I don't know. When I get absored in the creative process, time ceases to exist. I would say not very long, really, relatively speaking.

I was doing composites with prop planes in IL2/PF and some of those took me days to do; cutting out the plane, cutting out the props, finding decent backgound images, working over the backgrounds to get them to look smooth and to look good, "blending" so the plane doesn't look "pasted on".

Those I've posted so far have just been globally edited screen captures so they seem relatively quick and easy.  Smiley

Cheers,
K. H.

Cool, I was asking because it seemed like you were whipping these out onto the forums everyday, so I wasnt sure if these were old shots, or your just really fast Grin

Either way they all are great. All of them deserve a nomination to the Gallery Smiley

Thanks a lot, Nick! You're too kind!  Smiley

All of these are new, fresh off the grill and posted here only. No old stuff. As I start doing composites, however, you won't see them going up so fast, hee, hee! For example, right now I'm working on a composite featuring a bipe. Have to re-draw ALL of the wires and cables to get the bird to look good! It's gonna be "fun" cutting out THAT one; all of those odd open spaces between the wires! ...and you never really know if your idea is going to work out well until you've done all of that "grunt" work!  Shocked

The background image I found is GREAT. That inspires me and I hope to do it justice. We'll see!  Cool

Tallyho,
K. H.

Very artistic, I like it! Looking forward to your more 'involved' composites....

Thanks, krigl!  Smiley

I have to admit that I'm kind of enjoying taking it easy and just globally editing captures as opposed to the time and effort which goes into composites. As you know, that will pass however, hee, hee!  Cool

Still just exploring MSFS so it will probably be a while before I get into the more involved stuff. The process of getting there is a heck of a lot of fun though!  Wink

Well, you see, the aircraft was designed that way to confuse the enemy.  Wink
