I was thinking it was on a crain moving around for a movie shot or something. But looking at it you can see the blades are pointing up which looks like a thermal giving off an up draft. Seeing that I still think this would be impossible due to the weight of the chopper and looking at the distance of travel the chopper moves I still think it is on a crain.

Although it is a cool vid!

It is so obvious whats happening its not even worth explaining...just think about how a video camera works...its really very simple  Wink

Nice find though, does look very odd!!

You don't think the camera is in sync with the rotor?  Im no expert but that seems impossible.

Not impossible, in theory.  But to get such synchronization with the blades would take so much effort and calculation I don't think it would be worth it.

I'm going with a crane . . . or possibly aliens . . . Huh

Looks genuine enough to me. Ever watched an old Western movie where the wagon wheels appear stationary or even spin backwards? I imagine this is much the same thing.

Okay here's an explination. Say the rotor blades are spinning at 1000 rpm, if you set you camera to 100 fps the rotor blades would spin 10 times before the camera took a frame, and that would mean that the blade would look like it was still in the same spot.

1: You can hear the rotors
2: The tail rotor spins faster than the main rotor and you CAN see the tail rotor spinning

Obviously just the camera being insync with the main blades.
