Programmer wanted to help the online flying community...and the simpit builders too.

There is a strong need for a replacement application for the small stand alone application program called "AIBridge".

AIBridge allows the simulation's instruments to "see" the other people's aircraft in a multi-player online session within the FS2002 / FS2004  / FSX simulation as if they were the standard AI aircraft in a non-multiplayer session.  This allows stuff like TACAS radar to "paint" these other aircraft.  It also allows external programs run on networked PC's like the FreeFD ND gauge TACAS function to "see" the other player's aircraft.  Also some flight planners like Flight SIm Commander use it to find multi-player planes.

The problem with AIBridge as I see it (and this is a common problem from what I can tell from reading other forums) is that it does not work very reliably.  It was apparently designed a LONG time ago mainly for use on VATSIM.  When used with FSHost servers....... it doesn't like to connect, it is subject to FREQUENT disconnects, it sometimes remains connected but just stops displaying data, and so on.

Hope someone can tackle this one.

best,

.......................john
