Hello again,

Things are starting to move now. I want to start designing some basic panels to get an idea of where things are gonna go. I notice there is a link to front panel designer which is freeware. Are there any other essential  design tools I should look into.

Basically I want something that I can get exact demensions and is easy to use. Tried some cad progs and too much at the moment. Payware not out of the question as long as it affordable.

masternerd,

I used something called QuickCAD for some of the work.  And a standard graphics drawing program for the panel facings.

Frontpanel designer is a good choice too...... although I am sure that they'd RATHER that you order some aluminum panels from them.   Wink

I plan to use that for my main annunciator panel;  getting those FDS annunciators all set up in a tight array with narrow strips of thin MDF wood between them would NOT work very well.  That will likely be the ONLY aluminum panel in the pit other than the Goflight panel facings.

best,
