Hey guys, here is my entry for this month's competition...I didn't make the finals. Ah well...
Since I didn't get much input on it, I decided to post it here. What do you like about it? What's wrong? I'm open to criticism
.
Thanks!

One thing I would say is its concentrating too much on scenery rather than the aircraft...

I agree especially as the monthly comp was based upon military helos.
However, as a shot outside of the comp i think it is brilliant, great colouring and perspective.

Exactly what they said above - a very nice shot indeed, but the chopper is only a very small part of the shot

I like this shot a lot. Focusing on the scenery isn't a bad idea in my book, especially when the scenery looks as good as it does here.
It definitely feels like im looking through the eyes of a person on the ground. The color and weather make for a great mood, also.

I think this should have made the finals. Yes it focused on scenery but so did some of the finalists. This is truly a great screenshot. The colors and the angle and the mood is just perfect.

If given the job of selecting from many many pictures, 20 of which are great, I at least would choose the great ones that are closest to the topic of the competition. The helicopter here is a very small sillhouette, and there's nothing to show it's even military. Look at the ones in the comp - they at least have Navy or something written on them if nothing else. It is an amazing pic, to be sure, but it's not enough for the main comp.

Excellent!
Gives some of that "evil guys fortress in a James Bond movie" feeling.

Thanks alot for all the comments guys
. I agree...it wasn't a very "military chopperish" shot...so maybe it's good it didn't make the finals...I guess I was focusing on the scenery in this shot...maybe I should have saved it for a scenery competition
.
Cheers
