Hello Chums... Smiley...!

All those who are familiar with the original Norton System Works Anti-Virus Program will be know of the excellent set of "Utilities" which is part of the complete program....
As I no longer wish to be constantly reminded (every 5 seconds!) that my subscription has long expired....
...does anyone know of a similar free-bee Utility to perform the same function as "Win Doctor" in Norton System Works...?

This particular, excellent program finds and sorts out all the various Windows Directory, etc, problems which constantly crop-up, (the list is endless!), such as missing files, directory faults, shortcut errors, etc, etc, all automatically, with a single click of the Mouse!.... Smiley...!

These errors constantly mount up daily, and required to be cleared regularly!

Cheers all...Wink....!

Paul...AVG User... Cool...!

The only two system maintenance tools that come to mind are CCleaner and Registry Mechanic.

I have both and they work very well.

Hello Bjorn...Wink...!

Installed C-Cleaner, gave it a try, all seems fine so far...
Whether it sorts out specific Registry, etc, problems (like Win Doctor), or just gets rid of junk, we will have to see.. Roll Eyes...!
...thanks...Wink...!

You're welcome, Paul.

And yes, it can fix some Registry Problems.

But for the more complex cleanup, I suggest Registry Mechanic.

Hi Paul, nice shoes.  Wink

Never having a copy of Norton System Works, I have the older Norton Utilities, I was pondering the idea that System Works may have a custom install option. If so, is it possible to uninstall and then reinstall without Norton Antivirus?

Registry mechanic.  Bjorn hit the nail on the head on this one...

You may want to talk to Nick N.  He's pretty up on things...
