does anyone know of an FSDS plugin or procedure for importing and exporting different file types? Specifically .obj files.

Hi
Try the cva ver 03 plugin from here
http://www.flightsim.cz/fsitem.php?act=exe&id=49&lan=&menu=5
it only exports to obj files if you need more options have a look in the designers file lib here for a conver pack for fsds/G-max it has suggestions for moving different file types between apps

Got the newer CVA Converter ver1.0 from the Design Utilities page.
It appears to import and convert .lwo files to .fsc extremely easily.
Many thanks for sending me to it.
(The older CVA converts but does appear to save the new file as an .fsc, so FSDS reports no project loaded and I have not found the file anywhere. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong.)

On a similar topic, looking for some help. Am using CVA converter and 3D Exploration to transfer parts from FSDS3 to GMAX and then back again. When going back to FSDS, although the part is saved as .fsc type, it does weird things when opening it (the My Docs search box opens twice before the project does) and then upon compiling, nothing shows. Obviously I'm messing something up here.
