We've been discussing it and we'll probably get the Renault. We are going to get brother-in-laws father-in-law to give it a once over as he is a mechanic.
Thanks for all the advice
Ohh and don't knock Skoda. These days they're just VW with a different badge (along with Seat) and damn good cars (they have VW prices here!), and before they were part of VW for over 2 decades they produced some of the worlds most successful 1.3 and 1.6 litre rally cars. I mean 22 years out of 23 on the RAC they won their class in both catagories
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Just an old standard joke, even the adverts for them in the UK play on that. Skoda, practically last years VW's. Unfortunately, they are also getting closer to VW prices here. Also VW service charges too. I have a friend with a Passat estate. The service charge is almost as much as a service for my BMW
. As for the RAC, they should get a life time achievers award if there is such a thing in the motor trade.

Skodas are quite cheap...at least way cheaper than
VWs
(luxury cars shouldn't be named VW).

Not at all.
I dare to say that the common VW Passat's interior is of a higher quality than the one of so-called "luxury cars" (BMW and Benz).

Then the other week you had Bambi in your car. You know the Greenpeace people will come round your house and break your kneecaps soon Matt. All those dead animals and bits of forestry
