Just thought I should point out an ambiguity in the modify profile, options, avatar area.  While I appreciate the forum rules (and was probably one of the few to actually read them!) I was a bit confused by this:

Quote:
Personalized Picture:
Select one or specify a web path (ex: http://www.mypage.com/mypic.gif) to your own image. Please note that your image must be gif, png, jpg or jpeg and that it may be resized.

I have seen a few avatars removed in the short time I have been here and I feel that maybe the above is causing a misunderstanding of the forum rules.  It certainly did for me!  Smiley  I have never been a member of a forum where you have to use their servers and this probably added to my flawed reasoning about this  (By the way, I think that Simviation has it right.  Now that I'm used to it I can see it's a great system! Smiley ).

I was a bit embarrassed to log in to the forums and see my avatar removed and a demeaning message underneath it's replacement - in CAPITAL letters, no less!  Wink Cool  I understand that rules are rules but his could have been avoided if it was clear in all areas as to what you can and can't do.

Perhaps the wording in the modify profile area could be changed?

Cheers

Al

That seems to built into the script. I have looked at all the editable areas & could not find this. I dare not mess with the scripts as Yabb is fragile from my experience.....

Just ignore that ....

... but I do know what you mean & how people will make 'mistakes' simply by following guidelines. It's always important to be polite to anyone - even repeat 'offenders'.

If anything comes to light this will certainly be changed. Thanks

Thanks for looking into it and your reply, Pete.  Smiley

I wasn't worried about it too much but I felt it was worth pointing out.

Thanks again.
