Six months ago I had to un-install CFS 3. Prior to this I had no problems playing the game. I recently installed it again. No problems installing, but on pressing Play I get a message saying. "CFS did not shut down properly the last time it was run" It then refuses  to continue loading. I have re-installed it 3 times but still the same message. Any help out there appreciated.  Dendoe

I would guess you have some files hanging up.  When you did the re-install did you clear out the settings in C:/Docs & Settings/your name/application data/microsoft/CFS3?  Generally these hang around in a delete/re-install & will conflict with the new game.

As far as I could see all to do with CFS 3 was cleared out before re-installing. Still the same message. Thanks for responding

I had similar problems. By returning to an earlier system restore point, I could run CFS3.
When restoring to a current system date, the problem returned! I think that a microsoft update is preventing the correct CFS3 boot up.
