We have now FILLED THE VACANCIES for 3 extra judges for the Gallery Gates competition.

Why do we need more judges? Well:

We are supposed to have a panel of 5 + me, but people are forgetting to contact me, and forgetting on a regular basis.

The mini-competition is quite popular, and it gives people a chance to have their best work recognised further so I would like to keep it running on a fair basis i.e. with at least 5 different sets of opinions every time to select shots for the poll.

So we 'hired' 3 new judges to SUPPLEMENT (not replace) the existing team. That way, if some people forget, I should recieve at least 5 pms  Smiley

The first 3 to nominate themselves became judges, and these should PLEASE remember the deal is:

ONLY nominate yourself if you REALLY want to do it and can commit to noting the deadline and then, once every 2 weeks, on Saturday night, spend just 5 minutes looking at a bunch of shots and send Krigl a PM with your three choices in it. That's all you have to do. I do everything else. It's easy to forget, but...easy to remember too.  Smiley

Just to clarify - you can nominate your own shot or have your shot nominated if you are a gallery judge, but you are not allowed to vote for it. However, the other panel members may vote for it....

Let's keep this great little competition running, and fairly!

Cheers

Krigl

Thanks Soui, that's great, particularly as you are a long-term member, though newbies are welcome too. You can start today by picking the best three from the current gallery thread - that would be brilliant.

Just to clarify - you can nominate your own shot or have your shot nominated if you are a gallery judge, but you are not allowed to vote for it. However, the other panel members may vote for it.... I'll put this in the first post too...

LOL!   Grin

I had a PO when I was in the Navy who used to ask "Who here can ride a motorbike?".  There were always a couple of drongo newbies who put their hand up and ended up with the crappiest jobs!  Everyone told me before I joined up to NEVER volunteer for ANYTHING and NEVER put your hand up for ANYTHING.  And I never did.

In saying that, this is Simviation, not the military.  I would love to be a back-up judge but I just can't say I will be regularly available.  Oh well...

Al

Edited for clarity and spelling.

Great! So welcome to the Gallery Panel Souichiro, Stuart1044 and Aarnage! We now have enough!

You need to send a first, second and third choice for this week by tonight. It is important you send 3 choices because:

Choice 1 gets 5 points
Choice 2 gets 3 points and
Choice 3 gets 1 point.

What I do is add up all the points each choice gets, and the five with the most points get in the poll!

Looking forward to your votes guys!

Spyro (and this goes for other forgetful members too) - you still ARE a member of the team, but you've already forgotten twice  Grin
I think you're too busy collecting jewels and striving to defeat the Gnarsty Gnork!
Your votes are still welcome!

Alzone - we now have enough judges, but thanks for the semi-offer  Smiley

Fozzer and Alzone - great little stories lol  Grin

Sometimes I wish I'd been in the services so I had some anecdotes to tell.... but then I think again. I don't think they have much use for cowardly liberal pacifists in the armed services  Grin
