Gentlemen, may I ask your assistance again please. It concerns a P 40B:

folder name: “TomahawkIIb 112 sqdn Egypt”,
Airfile name: “RAF TOMAHAWK, MTO 1941, 112 Sqn.”
By Jamie Biscup, a.k.a. Kwagmyre.

I have put this A/C in a mission as player plane but on clicking “FLY NOW” I get the two “!ERROR LOADING MISSION FILE. EITHER MISSION FILE IS CORRUPT OR FORMATTED IMPROPERLY” messages. Going back to the “FLY NOW” screen and clicking on “PLAYER AIRCRAFT”  shows the A/C up under the “RAF TOMAHAWK MTO…….” menu. Clicking “OK” and “FLY NOW” brings up the “Can’t find the model tomahawkiib 112 sqdn Egypt” and “!ERROR LOADING MISSION FILE. EITHER MISSION FILE IS CORRUPT OR FORMATTED IMPROPERLY”.
Going back to FLY NOW screen and choosing PLAYER AIRCRAFT to change plane, any plane I select to fly instead of the Tomahawk still brings up the "Can't find Tomahawk...." & “!ERROR LOADING…” etc screens. Restarting the game after closing it still gives the same result. It's as if the Tomahawk locks on to the whole A/C setup.

If I pick a different mission that doesn’t have the Tomahawk as player plane and after the mission starts click “ALT”, “CHANGE/MODIFY AIRCRAFT”  and pick the Tomahawk from the “PLAYER AIRCRAFT” menu, the mission plays OK.
I have now removed the Tomahawk and replaced it with Mauro G’s Daf_p40e and problem solved.

Looking through the Tomahawk folders shows nothing untoward. Any clues chaps?

I do have a problem with my CFS2 MED setup, I cannot fly in freeflight  without the “Quick Combat”! error screen coming up but I have discounted this as being of any concern due to the fact that only the Tomahawk gives me a problem. Any clues just for interest?

Many thanks in advance chaps. Graham.

It would help to know where to get this aircraft. If it's still available perhaps someone can check it out for you.

Hello Hagar, thanks for your interest & help. It's taken me an age to track done the aeroplane but I have now found it. It is an included in "Vichy_France_Campaign_Gold" package, D/Ld from Netwings.

Regards. Graham.

Hi Graham. I finally managed to track down that package. It's an auto-install package so I redirected the install path & installed the aircraft manually. I tried the Tomahawk in Free Flight. All OK so far. Then I tried a Single Mission, changing the Player Aircraft for the Tomahawk. All works as advertised so I don't think your problem is with the aircraft. Without knowing what you have installed it's difficult to suggest anything. It's possible the error message is due to exceeding the CFS2 aircraft limit.

Hello Hagar. I had the problem when using it in the missions that used it from the package. Freeflight & changing a different mission plane to it was O.K. for me too. It was just the package missions that used the A/C which caused the hiccup. I have had the same problem with the same result in one of my other theatres but as usual I cannot recall which it is. The joy of old age!

I'll try and find the other problem one and if I do will update.

Many thanks mate. Graham.
