...I usually don't model aircrafts, so I got no idea where to find these types of things... Tongue

...anyways, been working on a F4F-4 and hit a snag, I need a few cross sections of the wingtip (cut from a plane that's parallel to the wing tip, and preferably located at the thickest part of the airfoil...but anywhere is fine...I just need something along the third axis so I can draw the surface)...and also a few cross sections of the elevators...(haven't started on those yet... Tongue)

Thanks in advance,
Jeff Grin

http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw/f4f.html

http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw_fw.html#7 ; (For the complete list of WW2 fighters, including the F4F)

Your challenge will be the folding wings on the -4.  (Of course, you can always do the -3, without the folding wings)

Thanks Felix,

I already had the first two pictures, but all the other ones on that website might come in handy later on.

Well, I got the wing tip drawn today...

...still need cross sections showing the airfoil on the elevators tho Smiley

wing it - in the grand scheme of things, unless you're making a dimensionally correct engineering model, 99% of the folks won't notice.  Get a couple of rivets painted off, and then yes, your modelling skills suck..  Smiley

(ain't nit-picking fun?)

Heh...Thats actually what I'm going for...

...I'm OCD about keeping a model as accurate as possible Tongue

(Why I have spent a good 3 weeks on this thing and and its just finally beginning to resemble a plane... Tongue)

I'm gonna avoid the rivits this time though, learned that the hard way some time back. Drew a old steam locomotive, and after I was done, the file size was 140 mb, and took a monster of a computer 20 minutes just to load it Tongue

Jeff, give me your e-mail and I can send you a whole set of drawings.  If you can't find something in here, then I don't know where you can get it... Wink
