this airfield is elevated above the rest of the scenery, its about 100ft above it
what would be the best way to bring it down to earth?
would editing the AFcad word or would that just do the strip and taxiway?
i tried a few flatten utilities but beither worked, kept getting errors or couldnt connect to the sim :S
does anyone have any sugestions?
cheers

Nice looking scenery there, John, my kinda airport..
You must have applied one flatten already, right? What 'flatten' utility did you use? What errors are you getting?
Your correct, Afcad won't change the terrain elevation. You'll have to create a new flatten, or modify the one you have. If you create new, make sure you remove the present one, or overwrite it by using the same file name.
If you used a utility for your current flatten that saved the '.xml' file, you can edit the '.xml' in notepad and run it thru 'bglcomp' again to make the change. If you put the code in 'scenery.cfg' you can also edit that directly using notepad. In either case, make backups before editing. Use care when editing, as changing punctuation, spacing, etc. will cause errors.
Notes:
*If your present 'flatten' is higher than you expected, the flatten utility (and FS) requires meters, and you entered feet.
*If the flatten utility cannot connect to FS, make sure you have the required 'connection' .dll installed in the FS Modules folder. There are several 'connection' .dll's available. Check the flatten utility's readme for the one required.
Once you change your elevation, you'll have to edit the Afcad elevations. (Scenery objects should be alright as their elevations are normally set 'agl'.
Cheers,
Dave

i tried to flatten but. one of them wouldnt connect, after i had put the dll in my modules. i read the readme a good 10 times and still i cudnt get it to work.
the other wouldnt even start, just gave me a 393 error or something along those lines.
so annoying, cos thats my local strip, and with a mesh its realy nice to fly as all the hills are around and things and its good fun, as default is a pancake scenery for the UK
