Just wanted to add my two cents,
You would be surprised how many people click on porn spam. I run a few affiliate websites and I get hit thru my email, blogs and forums constantly with porn. Problem is XXX sites are already doomed in the search engines from the start, Google for instance will automatically filter sites with this type of content. So webmasters of porn are not really worried about search engine placement or doing things that are unethical like spamming. What makes it worse is there are XXX affiliate programs out there, being an affiliate to porn gives a small time webmaster a porn site and usually they initiate spamming as a way to gain visitors, because of the competition.
Face it porn is a huge part of the Internet what they need to do is completely separate porn sites with the .XXX suffix and put up search engines specifically for porn. That way if you do run a porn site you can compete with a fair deck, so things like SEO, content, site structure will matter to the "porn search engine".
This would make the net safer for children and keep things like porn spam from happening. I know here the .XXX suffix is a big debate. Seems some think that if you give the porn industry .XXX you are saying its OK? My feeling is its not going away, and it needs to be managed better.
P.S. I HATE SPAM

I also wanted to add,
Usually when you see spam on fourms, blogs or any other form of social media its initiated by what are called SPAMBOTS. Basically it software that automatically scans the web for certain types of social media and can automatically register and post content like an actual person.
They usually come from countries that do not have tough laws on SPAM or the internet, Africa, China being the two that burn me the most. But certain eastern block countries also participate.

I agree with Masternerd
Junk like this makes me sick!
I do have a proposition though.
Maybe the Mods could give members the power to move/delete inapropriate threads, such as these XXX spam posts, since the people/bots posting it can move faster than the mods, having more members with deleting power could ensure we get rid of all of it
Again, this is only a suggestion.
If this is actual people, they're wasting their lives doing this
Cheers,
Ein.

Why has this thread been dug up from the depths?
Ein ....... the moderators on this forum are volunteers and therefore we have lives outside SimV ..... for the most part we are quick to react to the pathetic individuals who try and pedal their porn here. In fact I banned one last night before he even had a chance to start his attack.
So untill Pete finds more ways of keeping these individuals out,
my suggestion to you is ....... If it happens when there's no mods about then PM the mods .... none of us have a problem with full inboxes warning us of the impending contamination of young minds. In the PM post a link to the thread/s or the profile of the individual and leave the rest to us.

Since this thread has already been dug up, can I make a suggestion? If it is a spambot, why not have a small addition to the registration procedure? Most sites now require a random number to be typed before you can finish the registration. You might have seen it before. It's a 6 or 7 figure code in a twisted and bend typesetting so software can't read it. The code must be typed by the new user before he/she can continue. I think it will stop most of the XXX spam......

The Mods have to deal with these intrusions ..... so what is a minor inconvenience to you is a royal PITA for us mods ...... UNLESS you help by PMing us with a link to an offending thread or the offenders profile.
Not much to ask is it?
These are individuals, NOT BOTS, taking time to register so adding to the registration process will only slow them down by seconds. The bans we have can be easily circumvented and mearly delay the inevitable.
So hows about we stop moaning about what is a slight inconvenience and carry on regardless.
