IMO you used way to much ocean ripple and you should use guassian blur on it as well. Check out
this
tutorial for good hints

Very good heat blur for a first try, agree with the above comments. That's a lovely paint job! And you got a red plane to look sharp and crisp, without compression problems. Very nice work!
