Maybe the plane is in front of the smoke.

I used the airbrush. Made a orangelayer, and then took some parts out with the eraser on a smaller brush. Then I did the same for the other colors - yellow and white.

That's real progress from your first fire and smoke effort...looking good! The F-16 in front of the smoke is a bit strange though.. Might be better flying out to the left or something anyway...
