You don't. You have to upload any picture to the Simviation server.

Remember that it is not allowed to use images from other sited in the forums, you must upload them to SimV (look at the botton in the upper center part of the forums).
You must include the "img" with brackets [-img]-image link from simv server-[/img-] without the "-"

Your images are not recognised for some reason. They appear to be corrupt. I suggest you try again using file names without spaces. Make sure the images are actually in JPEG (.jpg) format before uploading them.

Use the [img] code for your sig but without it for your avatar.

Here's another one without a signature.
I tried to change the picture, but no succes...
It recently happened when I wanted to post pictures too. I followed the normal procedure, but no pics. Tried 4 days later, same procedure, different name, no problem...
Anybody any idea as to the cause of this?
here the signature pic:
mmm, apparently not...
this is without the [img] :
http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/damnyank.jpg
that is strange, it changes the spelling when I post it, the m in daMnyank is changed to a r. Could this be the problem? It looks OK here, but not when I post it...
AND YES! apparently the forum has problems with the m-n combination in the file name, changing it to r-n...

The images still appear to be corrupt. You didn't try what I suggested. Save the images under different file names [b]without spaces or percentage symbols[/b] & try uploading them again. You shouldn't need to mess around with code options.
[quote]uurgh!!! and it worked when I linked it!!! [/quote]
If you post the links to your images on the other site I'll do it for you.

It's the automatic censor. It doesn't like the word d-a-m-n. That's something I'd never even thought of. The fix is simple. Rename your image & upload it again. Use a name that's not likely to be edited.

Right. I can't edit your profile so you will have to do that yourself. I've uploaded your images.
Not sure this is ideal for a sig. I've done the best I can with it.
This is the path to paste into the Signature box in your profile.
Code:
[img]http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/tr-steinway.jpg[/img]
Here's your avatar.
Use this path without any [img] brackets.

You're welcome but the idea is for you to learn to do it yourself. You're obviously doing something wrong.

I didn't mean the subject. You can use any image you like & it doesn't have to be aviation-related. The size of your original image is completely unsuitable for a sig so I cropped the height to make it fit.

Same old problem. That file appears to be corrupt & does not show up. I have no idea what you're doing wrong. Which program, if any, are you using to process your images?
This is the actual link. Click on it & all you get is a red cross.
http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/SR%252071theBlackbird.jpg
This might have nothing to do with the problem but remember what I said about spaces & percentage symbols in file names.

sorry
when i right click and go to properties for the image, it says kodak Easyshare, so I change that.
i don't think that's the problem though. When i googled SR-71
Blackbird
, that image doesn't come up, so maybe it's not supported any more??
probably nto, but I'll experiment with different files and see what happens
thanks again

Please don't apologise. I'm not convinced you understand how this works. To post an image, any image, on this forum it must be in the correct format (JPEG or GIF) & conform to the forum rules. Sig images must be no more than 30 Kb. You can upload any image on your hard drive to the server providing it complies with the limits.
I downloaded your avatar image from the link you gave me by right-clicking on the image & selecting 'Save Picture As'. It was already in JPEG format but far too big. The file name is f-14-gul-sunrise2.jpg
I resized it to 100 pixels width in IrfanView & saved in JPEG format as tr-f-14.jpg - making sure the file size was less than 10Kb. I then uploaded tr-f-14.jpg to the Simviation server. Here's what we ended up with.
If you can't post the image in your topic it won't work as an avatar or sig.

one thing though, the upload window said it was much more than 30kb.
would it have automatically stopped it, or will I have to fix it?
thanks
