I live in neither the South nor the North, and it's still a pain to get to Waddington.....kind of tempted to try this year though, after what we've been told about XH558 it seems a tempting prospect  Cool

That remains to be seen but personally I have my doubts. Undecided Seeing the Vulcan back in the air is about the only thing that would persuade me to drive all that way these days. I can see most of the rest at our local displays.

I'd want to be pretty sure before I headed off, days to myself (or with alone with Jake) are pretty few and far between, so I'd want to make the most of it. RIAT or Waddo wouldn't really be possibe with the whole family, so it would need to be arranged pretty well in advance. Still, let's see what happens, for the first display it would certainly be worth it  Cool

Vulcan Bid for Eastbourne Airshow

The most sought after flying display in the UK could be appearing at Eastbourne Airbourne this summer.

The Vulcan, a cold war bomber, has been pencilled in for the FREE show this August and will join an exciting line up of military fast jets, old warbirds, helicopters and aerobatic teams.

It is anticipated that the recently restored aircraft will be ready this summer and Airbourne will be its first appearance at a seafront airshow in 15 years.

Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Councillor David Elkin said “This is so exciting for Airbourne and shows why we’re now the biggest seafront airshow in the World. This awesome aircraft really is a sight to see and its distinctive rumble is something that cannot be matched by any aircraft today.
