Hello:
You guys were really good at solving my jetway problem. So, I have another problem and question. How or what parameters and lines in the aircraft.cfg, get changed and set for making the headlights shine on the runway for the aircrafts that I have added?

Planes don't have headlights.

And I think you're referring to visible landing lights from the VC. Bad news there: It's depending on the model if a plane's landing light beams are visible from the VC.
So if you can't see the beams from the VC, it's a model issue that only the plane's designer can fix.

Thankyou for the response:
However, I am referring to the headlights for all views not just vc. However, again, I will attempt to reword my previous statement and questions.  I would like to know if there are lines or parameters in the aircraft.cfgs' that are associated with the headlights.  Or in other words,  do the lines that are in the aircraft.cfgs', that are worded as "lights", have any thing to do with the headlights or is the word "lights" thats in the aircraft.cfgs' only asscociated with the beacon lights and so on?

They would be called 'taxi lights' and 'landing lights' for an aircraft.

being this is about aviation the term headlights does not work.  Smiley They go on a car

As you turn them on and assuming the aircraft was made correctly for FSX AND has the lights programmed into the model, the taxi lights are typically dimmer but produce a beam on the ground and the landing lights are brighter.

The [LIGHTS] section only referrs to lights that illuminate on the aircraft itself. In example, if a light line has an FX file for a taxi light, recognition light or landing light, it is only for the bloom that light produces from the bulb, not the beam itself. The beam comes from a file named 'spotlight.bmp' and in order for that to show correctly from inside the cockpit in all views as Heretic mentioned, it requires the model file have the information for the landing lights programmed into it.

There is an issue with some aircraft being added to FSX that were designed for FS9. FSX handles the lightmaps differently and because of that aircraft that were not properly coverted to FSX or designed correctly for FSX, can result in the loss of the light reflections on the exterior of the aircraft and also the beam not appearing in any view. I have seen this with PAI aircraft and a few others but have not worked with it to see if it can be fixed.

Sorry about the wording, I am somewhat new to FS, so I do not know all of the correct terms yet.
Nonetheless, thanks for the information in regards to the lights.  I hope someone will make a fix for the beam lights one day.

These threads all belong in the Aircraft modeling section of the forums ...... that's why they are moved here.
