Contrary to popular belief, Fozz manages to terrorize the UK quite adequately even when he isn't on a motorbike.

Scania, I never did figure out how European shipping companies could get away with canvas-sided trailers. If you took one of them into a US city, the truck would be empty at the first red light...

When I was servicing equipment, two of our clients, both lumber companies, used canvas sided trailers. Never had any problem with them being vandalized. However, I did once see an incompetent truck driver rip one open when he ran his trailer alongside the canvas of one trailer. The driver, from a rent-a-moron pool, naturally denied any wrong-doing on his part. The trailer was brand spankin' new, awaiting pick up by the customer, who was not a happy camper when he found out. It being a silk-screened unit and the graphics having been done in California didn't help either.

Cheers TSC (I'm still lurking around these parts! )
The e38's doing great.
I bought it in July 2005 with 98,000miles under its wheels.
Its now done 122,000miles and all is reasonably well.
It eats tyres! - 255/45/18 rear 235/50/18 front - not so good at circa £500 per set!
Apart from routine servicing (and tyres) nothing major has broken.
The minor list of problems, the cup holders break, the e38 has two water pumps, one for the engine one for the heater matrix - my heater pumps failed which makes the ventilation controls not operate correctly.
The rear lights have been recently replaced to cure the condensation that were in the old light clusters - within 2 months, the new lights are just as full of water!
Not alot else to report!
I get an average 28mpg around town and about 35 on a cruise - the fuel tank holds 85 litres which can last from 240 - 480 miles depending on how heavy my right foot is!!!!
A great car which I don't regret buying at all!
Its currently at
Moseley Motorsport.
having two rear ball joints, suspension bushes and a new heater water pump, jobs found at its last oil service.
So for this week, I'm using the red e30 in the picture here as a loan car
-
Moseleys are in Shropshire, me in Staffordshire so the car goes away for its work and I get the retro ride!
Glad your enjoying your e38 TSC, if your only 2 months into your e38 ownership, you may find the ownership guide in
Total BMW Magazine.
helpful, it covers some common faults ( & cures ) for the e38.

Thanks for the link Paul, I'll have a gander at that. (edit, i'll nip into town & get the mag tomorrow, cheers
)
Glad to hear your e38 is going fine, just the normal things really, tyres etc etc. Got the good old 85ltr tank on mine, cost me £75 to fill 'er up the other day, but that will get me 520 miles on the motorway, so it's not too bad - around town is a different story.
Cheers,
TSC.

my peugeot 205 GTI 1.9L after I bought it in december 2006
and after it was stolen on her 17th birthday (april 2007)
and the rest of my team
the first on the left is the 205 GTI, the second is my girlfriend's diesel 205, and the 3rd is my turbo diesel 205
I'm now going to break the GTI down, waiting for money to buy a frame and rebuild a new one with the parts....

Vince, when I saw the pic of your 205 GTI, I thought 'Awsome! A GTI that has been kept original & tidy, even with the proper alloys on it, ace!' I loved it, I always wanted one of those. Then when I scrolled down, my heart sank to see it such a sorry state, all due to some scumbags who couldn't be bothered to work hard to buy their own things.
Sorry to see your GTI all bashed up, it was so cool when it was in working order.
