I'm not a big fan of "dance" music, though there are some electronics artists who grab my attention...

My latest discovery is Trentemoller... I just keep playing his album "the last resort"

I just love his subtle, dreamy tunes...

Here's a little taste...

Moan live

There's a nice collection of tunes at Myspace to... enjoy!

Dance music = meaningless trash! Great for nights out and the like, but as music alone it's pretty heartless.

That is a very shallow look at it in my oppinion, i do not really like dance, nor do i ever listen to it, but that doesnt automaticly make a heartless music.

Yeh right, saying??????? I seem to remember you as a Red Hot Chillies fan, now thats meaningless trash....

I agree dance doesnt have any deep meaning, but who cares? Its hilarious when out clubbing/driving.

RHCP write music that means something to them, dance music generally is just a collection of electronic noises and warped voices with no meaning. That's got nothing to do with whether you like it or not. I said it was good for going out etc, I was saying if you just look at it as music alone, it's pretty pointless.

Hmmm... I really can't follow this discussion... how would one type of music mean more than another one?

In every form, there's commercial, heartless stuff... yet in every style there are people who can project a feeling or atmosphere using their music... Trentemöller is very moodfull music to me and not purely dance to me...

Try to keep an open mind is what I say... if you don't like something, ignore it... if you do like it, enjoy it...  Wink

One of the funniest things I experienced lately was a fresh and poppy song, drapped in twinkling sounds, that makes me feel happy anytime I hear it... just to discover after a while, that it's the new single of Jessica Simpson, for god's sake! Shocked  Roll Eyes  Grin
But nomatter what, i still like it, it kinda reminds me of warm summerdays...

Just enjoy music people, and look outside the box...  Wink

Dance doesnt pretend to be meaningful, its just stupid...but sounds good. I think its amusing that you think that there are all these deep meanings in your songs...but whatev's...Cobra doesn't really care Wink

+1 Omag, very diplomatically put Grin

I prefer electronic music over hip-hop (or similar). It's way more danceable.
