The motion blur simply doesn't do the trick for me. Half of the pic looks like a screenshot of a rotating 744, half of it looks like a mediocre attempt at "motion blurring" a rotating 744.
There is no "whole" impression, just "non-blurred" - "blurred".

It would have been better to either blur the background or the whole airplane, not just half of it.

'Mediocre'?  You don't mince words, do you mate.... I think the plane is so close to the 'camera' or one's 'eye' that only part of it would be in focus... and if not, well, I like the effect anyway! I did it by motion blurring the whole shot, then using the eraser on low opacity to grade the blur further and pick out the bits I wanted clear.

I've seen and done other edits of the standard type....and I like experimenting. I'm not trying to be the best, just to get better and if not, to just have fun anyway  Smiley

Thanks for clarifying, feedback is good, even negative.

Thanks Splat and Mees, it's an honour that you'd like a copy...

I have an unedited pic of that size, or an edited pic of 900 by 720 or something similar which would probably look okay expanded....

Send me your email by pm if you'd like a copy.

It may work on real photos or in a real eye, but in a screenshot, in which every detail counts to recreate an impression that is as close as possible to reality, it simply does not work out at all.
