I like what you fixed:)
but the vapor trails seem a little odd(maybe they're just a bit too bumpy) and they should be on both planes.

The don't necessarily have to be on both planes one could be pulling more g's, speed etc Grin, but they are a bit bumpy

Heat blur is fairly simple, select the area you want blurred with the select tool, blur it, then use the ocean ripple in the same area while selected. Play with the ripple size etc where it isn't extremely prominent but visible. Thanks for the comments

Yup that's exactly what I've done but I can't seem to get the right balance.  I used gaussian blur with radius of 2.1 pixels and then ocean ripple but it didn't look good.  Do you know exactly what settings you used?
