Because I really really like this aircraft I'll start a thread with a series of questions for improvements modifications. And I'm starting with this:

How can change the transparency of the cockpit glass because it's too bright I think.

Comparison 2D and V cockpit

gpktm,

The VC glass transparency is typically set by the designer in the design program, so unfortunately I don’t think that you will be able to change that unless you have the source file.

Correct you can't change the "transparent properties, AKA- Opacity" from what the designers have set,.. Though you can always change the color of the glass and alpha texture's. Because I haven't been doing much with mods lately. I can't directly give you the solution of what color alteration needs to be for the glass text. and alpha. Wink

'The only thing the designer does is, give the object the transparent property. "How much Opacity the object is set to from 0%-100% (0% meaning see through, and 100% solid).

Parameters that can be changed, relating with texture's
BLACK= 0,0,0 is clear
Grey + Alpha=Semi clear with the aid of Grey gives tint
Grey+Alpha+Luminance=Semi Grey tint, clear, with specified luminance color added (red,green etc. light Orange shown in shot shown to right)

-Hope this helps, SN Wink

Yep, I got it. I have two questions though.

1. The alpha I can changed with DXT tool, but how can I change the luminance?
2. Isn't there any tool to modify the model of te original designer? What if I want to improve some parts, do I have to rebuild it from scratch?

1 I don't think that there is an option to change the luminance; at least I have never seen anything about being able to change it. (Someone else might be able to help you out here)

2 No, you cannot modify a model.

You can modify the original model if you have the source files from the designer & can use the appropriate design program (Usually gMax or FSDS). Some designers will happily give their source files if they know they will be improved or well modified. Ask the designer - the worst that will happen is a negative response - no biggy.

You can also GET source files here & more at FFDS

Here is a example section of what I think you will need to do,  Wink

[Window01]
Background_color=0,0,0
<----Change this value

size_mm=610,175
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=1
visible=0
ident=10001
window_size= 0.280, 0.110
window_pos= 0.360, 0.910

SkyNoz, I think he's loking to change the transparency of the VCockpit, not the 2D.  And I also don't think it will be possible, unless the designer overlaid a texture on the glass, which is a rare thing to do.  I've only seen a few aircraft that have textures on the glass, so it would be prudent to search through the texture files to see if the designer did or did not do this.  If so, changing the transparency or light hue MIGHT be possible.  If not, you're stuck with the way it is unless you can convince the original author to change it.

My strong point is not panels, or gauges. If you do what I mentioned from the first reply and edit the texture to a lighter tone, you will cure your problem. I just though I'd mention the background color method etc. I've seen it work in a way similar to window glass shown in your 'VC' shot. Wink

OK, I fixed the transparency. If I'll face any more problems with anything else I'll post again.

I searched the aircraft cfg file but couldn't find anything about landing light

[lights]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3, -1.7, -14.3, -1.05, fx_navred
light.1 = 3, -1.7, 14.3, -1.05, fx_navgre
light.2 = 1, 1.30, 0, 3.33, fx_beacon
light.3 = 1, -7.61, 0, -1.91, fx_beacon
light.4 = 3, -15.41, 0, 1.08, fx_navwhi
light.5 = 4, 11.41, 0, 1.09, fx_hawk_vclight_orange
light.6 = 4, 5.20, 0, 2.80, fx_hawk_vclight_orange
light.7 = 2, -10, -14.2, 0, fx_Vortices
light.8 = 2, -10, 14.2, 0, fx_Vortices
