Hey guys,

A few weeks ago I posted a composite I was working on for an "Edit This" competition over at screenshotart.com.  I've done some more work on it and I'm curious as to how you think it looks now.

Here's the old one:

Here's the new one:

What do you think?  Thanks for the comments/help Wink.

It looks good, but the planes are still too close together. I would make them smaller. Also, the lighting is a bit off. The lighting and blending aspects of composites can be very hard as I still find myself having trouble. I do not think that the top of the top plane would be light because it is higher than the sun. Unfortunately, I feel the heat blur is also overdone, but that may just be my opinion. Sorry to be so negative, but I am only attempting to help. Wink Wink

Hey, that's fine Double Farvel!  I want the negative!  That helps me make it better...thanks Wink.  I'll work some more and see what I can come up with.

Honestly, I think the first one looks better. The liighting, colouring all fits in. I would say the aircraft look too close, maybe make one a little smaller. Overall it is really nice

Wow, completely different look to the second Cool I agree with what was said before though...  also the contrast between heat-blurred and non-blurred is too sharp, and the planes are just too close. Basically you need to start again with the second plane, make it smaller, have the top of the top plane dark and the small lower one light, and go easier on the blur....

I can't  do better though, just trying to be helpful as requested.... Wink

I'm posting some shots soon, feel free to take a look and  rip 'em  Cheesy

Thanks Krigl...I'm just wondering, which plane do you think should be smaller?  And yes I agree the heat blur was overdone in the second...I forgot the settings I used in the first and couldn't get it to look right Cry...Ah well I'll just have to try harder Wink.

Without going further into all the technical stuff mentioned before... The second one has the dis advantage of showing more plane details. Especially the tail. It seems to me that you used the same plane twice due to the insignia on the tail. I'd try to use 2 different planes to give it more of a realistic look.

But I like! Keep it going!
