I use 'DDS Converter 2'  for FSX .dds repainting. I would say its better for the job than DXTbmp.

I had trouble with my copy of DXTbmp (latest version). Obviously I couldnt load my PSD's into it, and for some reason I had probs opening DDS files.

DDS Converter worked fine on all fronts. I can load up my psd's with the alpha layer pre saved onto that file, and convert to a DDS file that FSX will happily use in one step. A much better proposition if ever I saw one.
