I opened Andrews AFB in AFCAD and added F-16's, F-18's and KC-135 on the East side of the base where they belong. I then added Gulfstreams and C-32's on the West side where they belong. I did a "save as" to FS9 as per the instructions in AFCAD. When I reloaded FS9 the a/c are missing from the ramps. When I open FS9/scenery/addon there are no .bgl files shown, but if I hold the cursor over the sub-folder "scenery" I can see the .bgl files. If I double click on the sub-folder however, it is empty.  I tried copy/paste and dragging but they will not show at ADW when I fly around the base or taxi around the base. So, where are the jets????  I even re-booted. Help!

You have to save the BGL out from AFCAD under in FS9\addon scenery\scenery for it to be activated automatically at FS9's start, else you have to activate the .bgl file manually telling FS9 where said file is in the scenery setup.

If after having activated the AFCAD the planes still aren't where they should be, ensure that the AI traffic files that depict the use of the planes you want there are active and in FS9\scenery\world\scenery.

Let us know.

I still can't see the planes I placed @ Andrews. I let AFCAD save it directly to Add-on scenery/scenery. I "saved as" in AFCAD to FS9/scenery/world/scenery. When I go to settings/scenery to add my new scene the files do not show up. If I hold the mouse over the file name, ie FS9/addon scenery/scenery I can see the .bgl files(icon).......but they won't load. Same with FS9/scenery/world/scenery. If I hold the cursor over the word "scenery" I can see the .bgl file but when I double click on "scenery" there is no file in it. Whazzup?

Have you already installed the aircraft and ai flightplans for the flights your trying to see? If not:

1) Afcad does not make ai flights. You are only making 'assigned' parking for those specific ai aircraft. To have  ai aircraft  fly to and from your airport you must create the ai flightplans using TrafficTools. You must also have the aircraft installed.

2) The Scenery Library-Add Area- browse window, only shows folders, it does not show a file list. Use Windows Explorer to 'see' the file. Make sure you only have one instance of the file installed inside the sim, 2 or more can cause problems. If you place the Afcad (.bgl) file in the...\Addon Scenery\scenery\ folder you do not need to add it to the Scenery Library, Addon Scenery is active by default.

In the FS9-Learning Center, you might want to refer to the Scenery topic in the Index. It will explain how scenery files are organized and how to add new scenery areas to the Scenery Library, should you need to in the future. There is also help available at SimV-Help & Tutorials.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky

I have AF_2KADW.bgl in Addonscenery and AF_21KADW.bgl in Addonscenery/scenery according to Win Explorer. They don't show up when I try to go to FS9 mainscreen settings to add them to the scenery. I retired from the ANG at Andrews and all I want to do is add appropriate parked (non-flyable) aircraft on the ramps at Andrews where they normally park. I can't get the parked airplanes to show. So, I've added it both ways from AFCAD to FS9, i.e Addonscenery and addonscenery/scenery under different file names. BTW, my .bgl files are over 15,000 and include earlier .bgl files that I added but NOT from AFCAD.

First, one of the two AFCAD file has to go. As already stated by Dave, more than one AFCAD for the same airport is not the best idea.

Second, if you want to add static planes, AFCAD is not what you need, but you need other modeling tools the like used in creating sceneries. Refer for this to the Scenery & Panel Design forum as I'm unable to help you.

With AFCAD you can assign parking space to given planes and TTools can create AI traffic, but for static planes you need scenery software.
