Sgt GABE was chosen by Judge Eno as being most adept in exploring the Dark Side in last week’s competition…

...

...and now Judge Gabe has come up with a competition for us  all.

“LOOK MA, NO PLANES”

...

Judge Gabe says:

“Hey fellow simmers!  Everyone knows that we here at the V are experts at taking shots of planes, but I'm wondering how well we can take shots of other types of vehicles.  For the Judges Choice competition this week, I want pictures of anything but planes: cars, boats, trains, spacecraft, ufos, you name it (in Flight Sim, though, of course  ).  For those of you who just can't get out of the air, I'm allowing concept/futuristic aircraft.  Let's see what you guys can put together.  I would like to encourage editing...but no composites. For inspiration, check out Katahu's site or the FS 2004 misc section or FSX misc section.

...

THIS WEEK'S RULES

1. The subject is any VEHICLE as long as it’s not a standard plane or chopper. As said above, futuristic concept aircraft/choppers are okay, along with trains, boats etc… But no pictures just of scenery!

2. It can be from inside or outside the vehicle.

3. There can be payware or freeware in the shots, FS any version, and it can be edited too. BUT NO CUTTING OUT AND PASTING - the screenshot should remain the same - you can change colours, blur the shot, whatever - but no pasting other planes in, or pasting the plane on a new background - this contest is open to everyone, not just photoshop pro's…

4. You nominate one shot only, as a thumbnail of about 5 kb. It can be yours, or someone else's. Post it in this thread, below.
DEADLINE IS 10 PM GMT ON SATURDAY. The judge will choose which shot is best and tell KRIGL on Sat or Sunday. KRIGL will announce the winner Sunday evening, or as soon as possible.

THE WINNER IS THE NEXT JUDGE!

5. The winner should decide on the next competition, and send KRIGL one pic plus a short text to describe the competition and what they are looking for. Also send another couple of your best shots. This should be done asap… Krigl doesn’t like chasing people…
Krigl will start the new competition on Monday night if he can, so you have 5 evenings to produce your entry.

Can you spot the deliberate mistake? "Well, er, there's a ship, but something's not quite right.... er..." Huh

...

That’s right – there’s a standard plane in the shot… NO No NO!!! No planes!

6. This is for fun, so just post whatever seems to you to fit the rules. In the spirit of StudioV, we're all aviation and aviation screenie fans, and friends, and so just about everything goes. Rules are secondary, and no questions needed.

It might be an idea to check out our Judge's work, see what he likes....

Okay,  here’s  a trickier one. Why won’t this qualify?

...

Yep, that’s right. Those pesky planes again… Roll Eyes Grin

TWO 'IMPORTANT' NOTES

A. Please note: the winning picture will NOT go into the gallery, unless it's judged by the gallery team to be exceptional, so that is not the prize and don't be disappointed if it doesn't get in. The point is that you get to be the judge!!!

B. Winners need to send Krigl the material for the new competition by early Monday night (say 9:00 GMT). If they do not, Krigl will be the judge and make a competition himself. And that would be boring wouldn't it. This is so the comp becomes regular and dependable!

Pictures all courtesy of Sgt. Gabe. Remember…. Don't Mention The War No Planes!

Have fun!!!

Cool! I'll give this one a shot if I can find some spare time.

A request to Krigl:

Next time, could you please choose a smaller font size for the introduction? It's hard to read when the tekst is that large. I don't know if you're the one who's responsible for this, but you posted it, so... Smiley

Sure, I don't remember what you're referring to but if it's a car it should work Wink.
