Hello,

I got the cfs3 as xmas gift.  Grin

Since then i never played, trying to find solution on my graphics problem.  Cry

However sim is runing smooth in any action with at least 25fps, texture color details are fine as well but, I cant see the gauges. (I also, did  try at 800x600 16bit)

CFS3 is full patched. (ver 3.1a)

I include system configuration and a print screen to have an idea what i'm talking about.

Please, anyone could help?

Thanks in advance.

I would try a reinstall first.

Without knowing much about Radeon drivers, do you know when yours were last updated?

Someone should be able to tell you what the optimum drivers for Radeon cards for CFS3 are.

I use a very old driver  6.14.10.6396  on a 9600XT so I can get specular shine.

...

Newer ones work OK but you lose the shine.

Yeah, at first glance it looks like a missing or corrupted file set.

Firts of all thanks for the respond.

I will try to find out this old driver, can you inform please, in which catalyst version be included?

Then i will check missing or corrupted files.
As about the reinstall option, cfs3 setup UI doesnt show up, but play or uninstall.

I will keep inform any progress. Wink

Well, i have done it 7 times, but still remains. Sad

I installed the driver mentioned by avhistory and still the same problem.

It appears it isnt a driver issue.

That i found out is that, there is not the shared folder under the \\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3\aircraft, which i think it includes all the dds gauges, isnt it?

If that is the case and the shared folder is missing then that will be your problem. You ought to be able to find it manually on one of the CFS3 installation disks. Once found it ought to just be a case of drag n drop.

Yes dear,  Smiley configuring via cfs3config its something like a must !!!

As about the missing shared folder,  avhistory mentioned for corrupted and missing files, then i started searching the directory structure and what is in everyfolder, focused on dds files or cfg.

Well, everything you need should I think be in the CAB2 file on disk one. However, deciding what goes where could be an arse.

When you reinstalled did you try removing any trace of CFS3 that remained after you uninstalled? It would seem to me that if the aircraft shared folder isn't getting installed then there might be something wrong with the disks. In which case you'd have to contact Microsoft and they should replace them.

On a reinstall be sure you delete the CFS3 folders in Documents & Settings/your name/application data/Microsoft.  They don't always go away when you uninstall.

Thanx a lot guys, it works now. Grin

The problem was in the xp registry that a value string allowed to hide any folder/file includes the word share, so folder was there but it was hidden.

I disabled this security parameter and now it works. Great job, you encouraged me to proceed deeper. Wink
