I seem to be in dis-agreement with my lovely and seldom nagging wife about the coloring and lighting in this pic. She finds it awful, fake and flourescent, I think it's fine. What's your opinion? Voz definately offers it's own unique brand of sky color as seen here..I just can't decide if it's realistic or real-is-sick......bad joke...so what's your critique?

Hmm....this is a difficult one Clip....it's bordering on un-natural, but something about it feels normal...I don't know what to say about the sky on this one... Undecided

Unrealistic? haven't got a clue... I've seen plenty of FS colors of which I though looked reallt fake only to see them later in Real life.....

Can't say I like them though....

And they make your plane look Flat

Plane looks lovely and crisp, but a little flat as Soui says, the sky.... well, I quite like it, certainly unusual, you got the VOZ texture set to look its best... but a competition winner it's not. I don't think many will like it.  Wink

I've always wondered what the rationale is behind the VOZ sky/water texture sets - if in Australia the sky really is electric pink in the morning, and the water purple or acidic yellow with rings expanding from the reflected sun - or if it's an experiment born of the desire to create a complete package, but without the expertise in this area they need. I think it comes close to portraying Aussie conditions, and should look as it does in your shot, but the extra brightness they've added to make their scenery look 'hot' causes havoc with the sun close to the horizon. My solution - after Vozzing I always install a different set of sky/water textures  Smiley

I think

OMG!
You can see where I live in that picture!

As for the lighting, I find it pretty fake. Dawn in Melbourne dosn't exactly look like that.

P.S: Glad to see people realized it's Dawn in the picture not Dusk.  Cheesy Wink

*GROANS*  That was a bad joke Tongue.  Personally, I think the coloring is okay but as others said your plane looks horribly flat.  Sorry Undecided.

Hey Danny! Cheesy

My critique: The clouds look bad (for me) because they're too dark and too "plain", also, I wouldn't recommend showing a blank horizon so changing the angle would work!!

Constructive criticism Smiley

clip, i like the bottom two thirds of the picture the plane blends really well with them but i think the sky needs to be darker, as the other two thirds are, just my two cents Wink

How true Stuart, how true...you know the part I wrote about the "seldom nagging wife?" I lied.. Wink

I'm soaking up all your great comments everyone. All have merit and are important to me in understanding what makes shots appealling to a wider audience. This critique section is really a great learning experience... Smiley
